The Performance of 5 year olds from different Ethnic Groups

The Department for Children, Schools and Families published data in November 2008 which shows the achievements of 5year olds from different ethinic groups at the foundation stage and it will make it possible to compare the levels achieved by the same groups at later stages of their education.

The percentages of children who achieved a good level of development at the foundation stage are:

White and Black Caribbean 46%
Black Caribbean 40%
Black African 38%

Bangladeshi 33%
