Consultation by the DCSF on document: 21st Century Schools: A World Class Education for Every Child

The DCSF is consulting on its commitment made in the 2007 Children's Plan on its ambition to 'make England the best place in the world for children and young people to grow up' and to provide ‘world-class schools, and world-class standards for every community' in order to achieve this.

The topics consulted upon include:

  • Supporting a stronger partnership with parents/carers
  • Effective systems for early intervention
  • The role of schools in developing sustainable and cohesive communities
  • Effective partnership models and the monitoring of the performance and impact of these
  • The children and young people's workforce
  • The components of a 21st century school system
  • The School Report Card

The documents for the consultation are: ‘21st Century Schools: A World Class Education for Every Child' and ‘A School Report Card: Consultation Document' can be downloaded at www.teachernet.gov.uk/publications

The consultation closes on 3 March 2009.
